Ready for an Indio vacation? A California desert getaway is always a wonderful escape.
Whether you live far away where Winters are cold and snowy or nearby in the more heavily populated areas of Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego counties, an Indio vacation is great. The greater Palm Springs area is the perfect spot to relax, recharge and have some fun.
Indio is in Riverside County in the Coachella Valley. It’s just 23 miles east of Palm Springs and is just off of the 10 Freeway. The drive from OC, LA or San Diego is easy and will only take a couple hours depending upon where you are and what time of day you are jumping on the freeway.
Palm Springs International Airport and the smaller Bermuda Dunes Airport are very close to Indio. However, it may make sense for you to fly to the larger airports in Ontario, Los Angeles, Orange County or San Diego and then rent a car.
WorldMark is part of the Wyndham family of hotels and vacation properties. They have locations throughout the United States and also some in Canada.
You can buy into it as an owner for regular vacations. Individuals can also book a single stay, if ownership is not part of the plan.
The units are more like condos than hotel rooms. Each one has a full kitchen and other amenities that make it easy to feel at home for the duration of your stay.
They have one, two, three and four bedroom units and each has a balcony or patio with a BBQ grill. I was in a 2 bedroom ground floor unit that comfortably slept six – two in the master bedroom in a king size bed, 2 in the guest bedroom in twin beds and 2 in the living room on a Murphy bed. There were two full bathrooms.
Opportunities for outdoor fun can be found throughout the property. Therefore, you’ll find multiple swimming pools, hot tubs and a lazy river pool. Additionally, some pools are shallow and perfect for little kids.
For those who are looking for some competition or formal exercise, WorldMark has tennis, basketball and a fitness center. Also, the Terra Lago golf course is conveniently adjacent to the resort.
Additional amenities include an arcade, small market, snack bar and Starbucks. Optional activities are planned for those who wish to participate. While I was there they had a scavenger hunt, crafts, movie night, ice cream social and exercise classes in the pool and lazy river.
The Wyndham WorldMark in Indio is a budget friendly family resort. Hence, you can enjoy your Indio vacation without ruining your budget.
There is plenty to do in the greater Palm Springs area or you can just settle in and spend your entire holiday enjoying all the resort has to offer.
