Vegetarian food in Puerto Vallarta? Yes!
Puerto Vallarta is a modern Mexican city that is obviously influenced by the United States. I thought I was going to practice my Spanish, but just about everywhere I went the locals wanted to speak English with me, so that they could practice.
When looking for vegetarian food, you'll need to ask about ingredients. Just like in the US, not everyone will understand that fish is not vegetarian nor are beans made with lard. Hence, if you ask, you will find many delicious vegetarian foods and drinks.
Warm bread that was just baked in an outdoor clay oven is a real treat. Look for a sign along the road that says “panaderia” and pull over to have an inexpensive treat.
Some of the little loaves were plain and others were filled with something sweet or with cheese.
